In 2005 citizens elected Leon Rockingham, Jr. Mayor of the city of North Chicago. Leon Rockingham is a lifelong resident of North Chicago, Illinois; he graduated from North Chicago Community High School and attended Ohio University. Leon and Gwen, his late wife of 36 years, raised two daughters, Tameka (Sean) Wilson and Lea Rockingham who both reside in the city of North Chicago. He is a loving and proud grandpa of 4; two grandsons, David and Cameron, and two granddaughters, Brianna and Terryn.
